Bandopant Umarkar's wife is a local sarpanch and accused Mithilesh alias Mayur is a member of the panchayat committee.

On 9th July 2020, a meeting was held with the Senior Inspector General of Police of Nagpur Division and a statement was given through Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi.

The statement mentions that the accused 1) Vijay Paliwal, 2) Santosh Hole, 3) Baba Kolhe, 4) Ajay Kedhav Potdar, and 5) Avinash Keshav Potdar have forcefully entered in their houses and threatened. This incident happened on 9th June 2020 from 9.00 pm to 10.00 pm and for the last 15-20 days, a continuous threatening session has been going on, which is creating an atmosphere of terror in the village.

The villagers have been asked by the goons to cooperate for saving the accused and his family from the case or else be ready to face the same fate as the Khairlanji massacre, as mentioned in the statement.

Ganpat Sonule a resident of Thadipavani, who is a relative of Arvind Bansod, is also being visited and threatened frequently by the local police Patil Raju Matkar, whereas Dheeraj Bansod, brother of the deceased was stopped from the motorcycle and was threatened, had lodged a complaint in the police station.
